The America’s Got Talent Judge Cuts are right around the corner and we cannot wait to see how the contestants fair with this new socially distanced setup. One standout from the auditions that stunned the judges with her country twang and stage presence was Shaquira McGrath. In this newly released performance, Shaquira is slaying Judge Cuts with her take on the song “Don’t Wake Me Up” by Avicii. Take a look at this breakthrough performance below.
Shaquira McGrath Performed On ‘America’s Got Talent’ Judge Cuts
In a stunning setup, Shaquira stood in a forest full of trees and plants as she belted out the iconic song. The fog and lights were perfect as she hit each note and really gave her best effort performing remotely. The judges sat six feet apart watching Shaquira’s performance on a screen, as a new provision for ‘AGT’ during the coronavirus pandemic. Judge Cuts are taking place outdoors this season.

“I mean I wish you could be sitting where I am now watching what we just saw because you lit up this gigantic screen and you absolutely commanded it,” Simon Cowell said after watching the performance. “You have a very special talent Shaquira” he continued. “I watched you sing country, to me I feel like that is when you light up,” Heidi Klum said. In Shaquira’s audition, she sang the song “Redneck Woman” by Gretchen Wilson, a country tune that first won the judges over.
“I liked the last audition better,” Howie Mandel said as Heidi was talking. “I can’t think of another time from the time we first auditioned you to now where the world has obviously changed so much and I’m guessing that probably had an impact on the song you chose?” Simon asked. “This is one of those songs that really hits home for right now and people wouldn’t even notice without listening to it slowed down” Shaquira explained. Sofia Vergara called the performance “spectacular” and “breathtaking.” Howie chimed in saying “This year, the competitiveness is above and beyond, you’re making our job a lot tougher. We’re going to be fighting tonight I think.” Host Terry Crews announce they would be seeing Shaquira later to deliver some results.
Will Shaquira Make It To The Live Shows?
There are 59 other fierce competitions all battling it out to make it through Judge Cuts and on to the Live Shows. Shaquira has some stiff competition because this year, the singers really showed up. There are other singers in the competition like Daneliya Tuleshova and Sheldon Riley that could be Shaquira’s biggest competition but we really do hope this waitress moves on to the next round to get her time in the spotlight. And it does definitely seem like she has a huge fan in Simon who did nothing but praise her performance.
