‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ Nominated for Six Daytime Emmys

The Kelly Clarkson Show made an exciting announcement on Twitter Tuesday. The nominations for the Daytime Emmys were just announced, and Clarkson’s talk show earned six nods.
The Voice coach and former American Idol winner happens to be up against Idol host Ryan Seacrest in two categories. Seacrest hosts Live with Kelly and Ryan on ABC with Kelly Ripa.
‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ Nominated for Daytime Emmys
The Kelly Clarkson Show is nominated for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show, alongside The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Drew Barrymore Show, Today Show with Hoda & Jenna, and Live with Kelly and Ryan. Clarkson and Seacrest (with Ripa) are also up for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.
The show is also nominated for Lighting Direction, Sound Mixing, and Art Direction. Then there’s the Outstanding Original Song category, for which Clarkson’s show is also nominated with the song “Cabana Boy Troy.”
Last year, Clarkson and Pentatonix member Scott Hoying helped a woman surprise her husband with a lighthearted original love song. The couple, Shannon and Troy, were at the Route 91 music festival in Las Vegas in 2017 when a shooter opened fire. Troy, a police officer, was shot in the leg and was credited with saving 20 people during the shooting.

When Are the 2021 Daytime Emmys?
The 48th annual Daytime Emmy Awards will take place June 25. According to Deadline, they will air in primetime on CBS and Paramount+. The awards include more than 40 categories.
The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered in 2019. Last year, the show won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host. Clarkson got fans talking when she tweeted about the win, thanking her estranged husband Brandon Blackstock for supporting her.
There have been reports that Clarkson’s show is the favorite to replace Ellen DeGeneres when she ends her talk show. Last year, The Ellen DeGeneres Show won Outstanding Talk Show, so it will be interesting to see what happens this time.
