Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom Welcome Baby Girl

Congratulations are in order for Katy Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom after the pair welcomed a baby girl on Wednesday, August 26. They first announced the birth of their daughter via the foundation UNICEF in which they serve as ambassadors for. The pair posted a photo holding their daughter’s hand with a powerful message, along with revealing her name.
Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom Are Parents To A Healthy Baby Girl
They named their daughter Daisy Dove Bloom, a nod to Katy’s recent song that she released called “Daisies.” Katy even had miniature daisy embellishments on her fingernails for this momentous occasion. This is the first child for the couple and the second child for Orlando who shares nine-year-old son Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr. The pair are currently engaged after postponing their wedding due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” the pair said in the statement.

“But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was,” they said. “Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes.” The statement continued saying “Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever.”
Katy Has Been Very Open About Her Pregnancy Journey From The Start
Whether it was being honest about how her body has changed while pregnant or opening up about her past with depression, Katy has always remained very honest. Katy opened up on an Australian radio show about how her body was ever-changing during pregnancy. Her feet and hands have become extremely swollen and she has even gotten candid about her weight gain. “I’m really grateful for my body, and I have so much respect for other women going through this process. You get a whole new viewpoint being pregnant” she said. The American Idol judge also revealed she weighed 190 pounds. But, she fully embraced every part of the pregnancy, especially with her upcoming album “Smile” out on August 28. She filmed her music videos while pregnant and danced around in her circus-themed video for her song of the same name.
The pair also showed off their major goofy side as they went baby shopping. Katy partook in a viral dance challenge, baring her bump while dancing down the street. We just know that they are already the coolest parents ever.
