Grimes, Elon Musk “Semi-Separated” After 3 Years of Dating

I never thought this day would come, Alter Ego judge Grimes and Elon Musk have officially broken up. After dating for three years and having X Æ A-XII Musk together, the couple has officially parted ways. Even though we’re sad to see the romance come to an end, we’re happy to know that they are still on good terms.
I don’t know about you, but I am absolutely heartbroken for the couple. They’ve been going strong in the public eye since 2018 and unfortunately it just didn’t work out for them. On Friday, Musk confirmed that the two have parted ways. He added that even though they are separated, the two will continue to see each other and co-parent their one-year-old.
“We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms,” Musk said. “It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room.”
It’s sad to see that the distance was what separated this iconic couple. It’s no secret that long-distance dating is hard, but I’m sure it becomes even worse when you’re of high status like Grimes and Musk. Unfortunately, now we know why Grimes walked the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala alone. It’s reported that both Musk and Grimes attended the event, but were not seen together until they were leaving New York.
A Brief History of Grimes and Elon Musk
This iconic couple confirmed their dating status at the 2018 Met Gala. They had been together since May 2018 before walking the red carpet at this event. They met on Twitter when Musk wanted to make a joke about artificial intelligence, but Grimes’s “Flesh Without Blood” music video beat him to it.
The couple never had it easy being that they were in the public eye. Grimes often got involved to set the story right about scandals Musk was facing. It is reported that after a Twitter joke that fell flat, the two parted ways in 2018. After the separation, they rekindled and began to see each other again. In January 2020 Grimes announced that she was pregnant with X Æ A-XII Musk. She had their child later that year.
This couple found a way to get back together before, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened again in the near future. It sounds like this separation was heartbreaking, but necessary considering their careers are currently in different cities. Considering these two controversial and unique characters met on Twitter and named their child the questionable X Æ A-XII, I’d say they’re pretty much made for each other.
