‘The Masked Dancer’ Is Set To Begin Filming

The Masked Dancer is set to begin filming at Red Studios in Los Angeles, exactly where The Masked Singer is filmed. This new Fox show is based on a very popular segment of The Ellen Show. Host Ellen DeGeneres will produce the show with an idea similar to the one she originally brought to life on her daytime talk show.

The premise is very similar to The Masked Singer, except this time the celebrity under the mask will be dancing. The judges will then have to guess the identity of the celebrity under the mask after being given clues.

The contestants will go through rehearsals to make sure their dance skills impress the celebrity panel of judges. Previous judges of the segment on The Ellen Show included ‘Masked Singer’ judge Nicole Scherzinger and host Nick Cannon. Nicole actually correctly guessed that it was Dancing With The Stars judge Derek Hough underneath the mask. There is still no word on who the judges will be for the Fox show or whether it will be new judges each week.

‘Masked Singer’ judge Ken Jeong also joined Ellen on an episode of The Ellen Show to guess who was underneath the mask. It turned out to be America’s Got Talent judge Howie Mandel. If this is any indication of what The Masked Dancer show on Fox will be like, it will definitely be super exciting and full of surprises.

Safety And Health Protocols Are In Place As The Show Is Set To Film

The Masked Singer has been shooting season four without a live audience due to social distancing guidelines that are currently enforced. Instead, they had superfans watch the show and vote for their favorite contestants virtually. The Masked Dancer will follow the same format with regular coronavirus testing and social distancing.

You can actually join the virtual audience for The Masked Dancer at home by following the directions of the Instagram post below.

According to Deadline, “Fox is working closely with local and state officials, including the Health Department, as well as the unions on protocols to make sure that the production environment is as safe as possible.”

“Our focus is just to create an environment where people can work safely and manage those conditions,” Rob Wade, Fox Entertainment’s President of Alternative Entertainment and Specials said.
