Catie Turner’s music video for her brand new song “Therapy” is quirky and full of funny moments. The Season 16 American Idol star has continued to impress fans with her original songs years after appearing on the show. She may be well on her way to having a chart-topping hit.
‘American Idol’ Star Catie Turner Stuns with ‘Therapy’ Music Video
The “Therapy” music video is quite literally a therapy session. Catie gives a brief disclaimer that she is not a “real therapist.” The mid-century decor in the music video is very true to Catie’s own personal style. “Therapy” gives off similar energy to Olivia Rodrigo’s smash hit “good 4 u.” This has been Rodrigo’s year after her song “drivers license” went viral on TikTok. “Therapy” has the same potential to do well on social media platforms and on the charts.
This song is completely different from the other big music releases we have seen from American Idol contestants in the past few months. It’s edgy and fresh with lyrics that pretty much anyone who has ever been in a relationship can relate to. The music video features a little dance break from Catie, the same kind of dancing skills she showed off on TikTok this week to convince fans to pre-save the song.
Prior to releasing “Therapy,” Catie caught up with her fans on TikTok and took “here before she was famous” attendance. The comments section flooded with fans who have been loyal since her very first American Idol audition singing “21st Century Machine.” Catie is one of the most memorable contestants to come out of the show since its shift to ABC in 2018.

Catie’s personality really shines throughout the music video. The best part is when she holds up a piece of paper that says “I am a hot therapist though.” This part of the video is a big hit with fans in the comments section on YouTube. She throws a bunch of papers around the room before holding up another sign that says it’s “time to accept One Direction isn’t getting back together.” Some of us are still secretly holding out hope.
“Therapy” is one of the songs off of Catie’s upcoming EP Heartbroken and Milking It to be released on July 16. The EP is available to pre-save here. Her captivating song “Play God” will also be featured on the highly-anticipated EP. Catie is on fire with all of her music releases lately and she’s doing it with her own unique style.
