Ariana Grande popped into The Late Late Show with James Corden last night to celebrate the end of COVID-19 lockdowns. She and James Corden sang “No Lockdowns Anymore,” a parody of the Hairspray classic “Good Morning Baltimore.” They were even joined by the star of Hairspray on Broadway herself,  Marissa Jaret Winokur.

Ariana Grande Sings Lockdown Version of ‘Hairspray’ Classic with James Corden

The sketch begins as Corden emerges from his home in a bathrobe. He jumps into singing about how great it feels to be outside. He sips on mimosas and says goodbye to Zoom before giving a shoutout to Dr. Anthony Fauci. Grande walks out of a hair salon and sings about getting a haircut for the first time after lockdown. Later, she dances down the street with Winokur. On Instagram, she called Winokur’s cameo “heart attack provoking.”

Grande stuns in a bright yellow dress in her first television appearance since marrying Dalton Gomez in May. She joins Corden on a sofa as they bid farewell to working from home and secretly watching Bridgerton during working hours. The duo is pushed up the street on a luggage cart before they are joined by background dancers to put on an In The Heights-style grand finale.

This song gives off a bit of nostalgia for Grande who starred in Hairspray Live! in 2016. She played Tracy Turnblad’s best friend Penny Pingleton. She was definitely a scene-stealer in the NBC adaption. Grande has had a huge year with the remix of “Save Your Tears” with The Weeknd topping the charts. She also announced that she will be joining The Voice for Season 21 which has already started filming.

After hearing Grande slay “No Lockdowns Anymore,” her fans have some ideas about her next business venture. They think she would be the perfect choice to star in a future Disney film. Fans echoed that she is “a real life princess.” Others agreed that her yellow dress in the video draws comparisons to Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

“ARIANA SHOULD BE PLAY A DISNEY PRINCESS SHE LITERALLY HAS THE VOICE FOR IT,” one fan wrote in a YouTube comment.
