‘America’s Got Talent’ Auditions Continue with More Jaw-Dropping Acts

America’s Got Talent Season 16 returned on Tuesday night with another round of auditions. This episode featured some truly incredible acts, including one that had us on the edge of our seats.

There were some amazing non-singing acts during tonight’s show, displaying the variety of talent out there. However, the Golden Buzzer still ended up going to a singer at the end of the night.

Amazing ‘AGT’ Group Makes Unicycling Beautiful

One of the night’s first acts was UniCircle Flow, a group of unicyclists from Japan who showed off jaw-dropping moves while balanced on one wheel. Only four of them appeared during the audition, but there are actually 12 members in total. Considering how impressive they were, we can only imagine how good they’ll be with triple the members.

The AGT judges gave UniCircle a standing ovation, with Sofia Vergara saying the act was “so exciting.” Howie Mandel pointed out that we’re so used to seeing unicycles used in a funny way, such as by clowns. However, they made the practice look like a beautiful dance.

The group received four “yes” votes from the judges to move on to the next round. Fans online are already talking about how great they were, with some commenting on YouTube that they should have earned the Golden Buzzer for their unique audition.

Escape Artist Is Almost Sawed in Half on TV

By far the most intense audition of the night came from escape artist Matt Johnson, who performed a dangerous trick involving circular saws and a straitjacket. He shared that his wife previously asked him to stop performing stunts after a scary incident last year. However, he persevered.

Johnson said he had only performed the stunt once before during rehearsal. The judges were on the edge of their seats as he struggled out of the jacket before the saws came swinging down toward him. He ended up making it out in the nick of time, with seconds to spare.

Vergara told him she was “so nervous for you,” while Heidi Klum told him to “listen to your wife a little bit more.” Mandel said he’s “never been more scared,” and we have to agree. Johnson received four “yes” votes, so we’ll see more from him in the next round.

‘AGT’ Performer Makes Simon Cowell Believe in Magic

We always love to see great card magic, and tonight’s contestant Patrick Kun delivered it in spades — get it? He shared that he used to practice magic in secret in his room as a kid, and joked that he sold his soul for his magical powers.

Kun showed off an understated but seriously impressive close-up magic routine in which he had the judges sign several playing cards. He made the cards disappear and reappear, and by the end of the trick, the signed cards were back inside a sealed box in the correct order.

Simon Cowell was convinced that Kun had actual magic, which we’d say is a pretty positive reaction. The magician received four “yes” votes from the AGT judges. We can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve next time.

Singer Battling Cancer Earns the Golden Buzzer

At the end of the night, a 30-year-old singer named Nightbirde took the stage to perform an original song called “It’s Okay.” She shared that she’s battling cancer in her lungs, spine, and liver, but said, “I’m so much more than the bad things that happened to me.”

Nightbirde showed off a beautiful voice and honest songwriting. The performance brought Cowell to tears, and he was inspired to hit the Golden Buzzer to send Nightbirde straight to the live shows. After last week’s Northwell Health Nurse Choir, this is the second singing act this season to earn the Golden Buzzer.

It was a lovely moment, and Nightbirde’s positive attitude is inspiring. However, it would be nice to see at least one non-singing act earn the Golden Buzzer this season. Fingers crossed that next week’s show delivers!
