Alejandro Aranda to Release 21-Track Album

The Act of Forgiveness will be Aranda’s second album. He released his first, titled Exit Form, in 2019. The new project (to be released August 27) will be a double album of 21 songs, with 12 of them featuring orchestral arrangements from composer Rob Mathes.

According to a press release, the new album will be “a bold statement to his artistic versatility,” adding, “Woven throughout with the sweeping strings and his unbelievable guitar fingerpicking, this double album reiterates the emotional depth of his songwriting as he explores themes of nostalgia, romance, and uncertainty.”

The 26-year-old recently debuted a track from the album. The song, titled “Friends,” features a twangy guitar and piano accompaniment, as Aranda shows off his breathy vocals. Fans praised the song on YouTube, with one commenter comparing it to “a rainbow sparkling in the sky after some rain.”

Aranda is Currently On Tour

Ahead of his album release, Aranda is currently on tour. The Acoustic Tour is running throughout the month of June. In August and September, he’s headed to Summer Camp Music Festival and Bonnaroo. Check out the schedule here.

Aranda will also be going on tour this fall to open for X Ambassadors on The Beautiful Liar tour. Dates kick off October 15 in San Diego, and tickets are on sale now.

Aranda wowed the judges on American Idol Season 17 in 2019. The show called his audition the greatest in the show’s history, as the singer expertly strummed his guitar and performed an original song. Many fans were angry that he didn’t end up winning the season.

However, he’s been able to pursue his own unique brand of music in the time since the show. Winner Laine Hardy, meanwhile, has yet to release an album in the two years since his win.
