After Months Of Speculation, Kim Kardashian Files For Divorce From Kanye West

Months after their crumbling relationship was on full display for the world to see, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are officially calling it quits. The KKW Beauty mogul filed for divorce on Friday, Feb. 19 according to E! News.
Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Are Getting A Divorce
Kim and Kanye have amicably decided on the split after nearly seven years of marriage. She is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s four children North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3 and Psalm, 20 months. Kanye is also reportedly in agreement with this joint custody arrangement.
The former couple does have a prenup in place and are not disputing it. They are already far along in their divorce process and are right now focusing on their properties. Kim is staying at the couple’s $40 million Calabasas home that underwent $20 million worth of renovations. Kanye is staying at his $14 million Wyoming ranch where he spent some time in quarantine after a Twitter tirade previously.Â

Kim owns all the land around the Calabasas house while Kanye owns the house itself. “Kim is trying to get Kanye to turn over the Calabasas house to her because that’s where the kids are based and growing up,” a source told Page Six. “That is their home.” Since news began circulating of their split, Kim has spent a lot of time with the children and gone on several lavish vacations.
The pair never confirmed anything publicly about their divorce, but speculation began growing after some of Kanye’s public outbursts and Twitter rants went viral. The last time Kim posted any content with Kanye on Instagram was November 2020. Kanye has also not posted on social media since November.
In January, Page Six reported that “divorce is imminent” for the couple. A source recently told E! News that Kim and Kanye are “completely done and no longer speaking.” But recent reports do indicate that they are dedicated to co-parenting their children.
Kim’s Main Focus Has Always Been On The Children
Previously, a source spoke out to E! News about how Kim and Kanye’s relationship was really facing a rough patch. “It’s gotten to the point where they haven’t spent time together as a married couple in months,” they said. “They’ve seen each other for the sake of the kids but have been living separately. Kim knows the marriage is over. She’s known for a while.”

“It’s not about the marriage anymore, she’ll always care for Kanye but it’s over between them. Kim is only focused on what’s best for the kids. It’s a tough decision for her and she’s figuring it out” the source continued.
