6 Best Ken Jeong Moments From ‘The Masked Singer’ and Beyond

There is no bigger fan of The Masked Singer than judge Ken Jeong. He practically owns the phrase, “I know exactly who this is.” Fans of the show know by now that Jeong never actually knows who is under the mask. His wild guesses are what makes the show so funny. It’s time to celebrate his hilarious personality by taking a look back at some of his best moments on the hit Fox show and beyond.
1. Ken Jeong’s Bromance with Joel McHale is #FriendshipGoals
Jeong worked with actor Joel McHale on the show Community for six seasons. They served as co-hosts of The Darkest Timeline podcast which was developed in quarantine. Their best friendship moments have definitely taken place on The Masked Singer where McHale frequently serves as a guest judge. When Jeong called out host Nick Cannon for being short, McHale fired back at Jeong by reiterating that he’s only 5-foot-3. Obviously, throwing shade at each other is one of the many levels of their friendship.
2. He Answers Medical Questions with Major Sass
In 2017, Jeong teamed up with WIRED on YouTube to make a video answering some of Twitter’s burning medical questions. He is a licensed doctor in the state of California. Jeong offered solace for those of us who constantly question the knee-reflex test at the doctor’s office and how many daily vitamins we really should take. When one person asked how to check their pulse, Jeong fired back that “a baby could tell you how to check a pulse.” The 52-year-old also hilariously pulled out his phone to Google the three parts of the brain stem.
3. His Debut Performance on ‘The Masked Singer’ is Still Unforgettable
Jeong’s talents aren’t just limited to making poor guesses on The Masked Singer. The 2020 Masked Singer holiday episode gave Jeong the opportunity to step out onto the stage and perform “Little Drummer Boy.” Jeong joked on Twitter that it was probably his first and last performance. He got pretty festive with his holiday outfit and even did some choreography. Robin Thicke was absolutely losing his mind watching Jeong perform, and so was the entire fanbase of the show.
4. Ken Jeong’s Most Ridiculous Guess of All Time Sparks a Twitter War
Remember when Jeong ticked off Mariah Carey’s entire fanbase last year? It wasn’t his funniest moment in hindsight, but it was definitely one of the most memorable. In Season 4 of The Masked Singer, he guessed that Carey was underneath the Lips mask. Carey’s fans did not appreciate Jeong comparing Carey to the actual masked celebrity, Wendy Williams. Jeong’s erratic guessing is always usually pretty embarrassing. This one certainly took the cake though. Twitter has not been very forgiving towards him since then.
5. He Absolutley Crushes Spicy Chicken Wings on ‘Hot Ones’
In 2019, Jeong sat down with Sean Evans to eat the wings of death on Hot Ones. He spilled some tea about everything from his days on the Community set to the first concert he ever went to. His commentary while pounding back ridiculously spicy wings was comedy gold. Jeong revealed that he shared a trailer with Donald Glover on Community. He got to experience the writing process behind Glover’s albums under the rap persona, Childish Gambino. He became a “grumpy old man” once Glover’s music started to get a little too loud. Out of everyone that Jeong has worked with, he named Zach Galifianakis as his funniest co-star. After eating all 10 of the chicken wings, Evans challenged Jeong to perform a physical on him.
6. The Infamous Turkey Hat
Finally, we all have to thank Jeong for the totally iconic turkey hat moment. Jeong emerged from backstage during the Thanksgiving episode of The Masked Singer in 2020 wearing a hilarious turkey hat. He joked that the rest of the judges failed to get the memo that they were supposed to dress as Thanksgiving side dishes. There is genuinely no other celebrity that we can picture wearing this hat.
